Summary in plain english
This decree-law amends the scheme which creates the social benefit for inclusion.
What is going to change?With this decree-law, professional and voluntary firefighters, security forces, the Armed Forces, the maritime police, professionals from INEM and forest sappers, who suffer an accident on mission resulting in a degree of incapacity of 60% or more, can claim the social benefit for inclusion until the normal retirement age.
This decree-law allows the accumulation of the social benefit for inclusion with the support allowance for the main informal carer, allowing disabled people caring for others to accumulate their social support.
The benefit can be paid to the legal person who certifies that it is in charge of the beneficiary of the benefit provided that it proves that it has initiated a follow-up action in relation to the beneficiary of the benefit.
What advantages does it bring?This decree-law aims to combat social inequalities and poverty and to broaden the scope of social protection.
When does it enter into force?This decree-law entered into force on the day following its publication and took effect from 1 January 2021.
