Summary in plain english
This decree-law approves exceptional measures to guarantee access to higher education to students coming from foreign secondary education systems.
Given the public health emergency of international scope, declared by the World Health Organization on 30 January 2020, as well as the classification, on 11 March 2020, of the COVID-19 disease as a pandemic, the Government has been approving a set of extraordinary and urgent measures in several matters.
What is going to change?Applicants are exempted from taking the entrance examinations through the final examinations of course subjects.
For the purpose of calculating their application score, they will use the final grade of their secondary school subjects corresponding to the entrance examinations required for access to the institution/cycle of studies for which they are applying, converted to the scale of 0 to 200 when necessary.
What advantages does it bring?The decree-law guarantees the continuation of studies for applicants to higher education, especially emigrants and family members residing with them.
When does it enter into force?This decree-law enters into force on the day after its publication and takes effect from the date of application for enrolment and registration in higher education for the academic year of 2020-2021.
