Summary in plain english
This decree-law transposes a European Directive adapting to scientific and technical progress the provisions of the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road and the Regulation concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail concerning the inland transport of dangerous goods.
What is going to change?Vehicle crew members or train drivers will receive written instructions before the start of each journey and in a language they all understand. General and individual protection equipment for the vehicle crew or train driver is also guaranteed.
Accident reports are now drawn up by the appointed safety adviser according to the criteria and models defined by the President of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority within 20 working days from the date of the accident.
A copy of the reports shall be sent to the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority within five business days from the date of their preparation.
What advantages does it bring?This decree-law carries out the duties and powers of the national authorities in charge of radiological protection, thus ensuring the general and individual protection of the vehicle crew or train driver.
When does it enter into force?This decree-law entered into force on 9 June 2020.
