They are substances or preparations used to protect or treat plants or agricultural products from diseases or pests, as well as to influence, for example, the growth of plants (for example, pesticides).What is going to change?
Beekeepers can now ask for prior information on the application to crops of any plant protection products dangerous to bees or other pollinating insects.
The period of validity of the entitlements of the applicator of plant protection products over 65 years of age is determined in line with the period of validity of the entitlements of the other applicators.
Forest producers or their organisations are obliged to inform the Regional Directorates of Agriculture and Fisheries (DRAP), the Institute of Nature and Forests Conservation and the federations of beekeepers, 48 hours in advance, of their intention to apply any plant protection product listed in this legal document.What advantages does it bring?
The risks and effects of pesticide use on human health are reduced.
Indicators are adapted to assess the situation with regard to risks and effects resulting from the use of plant protection products on human health and the environment.When does it enter into force?
This decree-law enters into force on 30 November 2019.
