Signals are created to implement the zones of residence or coexistence, which are zones used by pedestrians and vehicles, with special traffic rules.

This regulatory decree also distinguishes between traffic signs, signs from traffic regulators and drivers' signs.

Variable message signs may contain the hazard warning symbols on their signs and are for information purposes only.

This regulatory decree promotes road safety with a view to reducing accidents, within the scope of the National Strategic Plan for Road Safety - PENSE 2020.

This regulatory decree enters into force 180 days following its publication.
