What is it?

This regulatory decree creates the conditions which allow to carry out the extension of the simplified land information system and the Building One-Stop Desk (BUPi) in the entire country.

The simplified land information system aims to gather information on the rustic and mixed buildings in Portugal, their locations, limits and their owners or individuals who hold other rights over the lands.

The rustic buildings are plots of land aimed for agricultural or farming exploitation.

The mixed buildings are plots of land aimed for agricultural or farming exploitation, which may have support buildings to these activities.

The Building One-Stop Desk (BUPi) is a physical and virtual desk, created to aggregate the information regarding the buildings, operating as a point of contact with Public Administration.

What is going to change?

The simplified land information system and the BUPi is extended to the entire country.

Like before, this tool is free of charge, both for the citizens and for the public entities.

A georeferenced graphic representation procedure is provided, which aims to establish the exact location of the rustic and mixed buildings and their limits, as well as the special procedures for the justification of rights over the buildings and of registry of omitted buildings, in order to identify the ownership.

What advantages does it bring?

This regulatory decree shall allow to identify the existing rustic and mixed buildings, their limits and owners throughout the country, thus allowing to better understand and protect the national territory, meanwhile keeping such acts free of charge.

When does it enter into force?

This regulatory decree enters into force five days after its publication and takes effect from 1 November 2018.
