What is it?

This decree-law approves the National Programme of Civil Aviation Security (PNSAC) and also creates the sanctions framework applicable to the legal scheme of the Common Basic Standards on civil aviation security.

What is going to change?

The responsibilities of the different stakeholders in the aviation sector, regarding the implementation of the common basic standards on civil aviation security, are established.

The National Authority of Civil Aviation Security (ANASAC) now audits each of the national airports to assess and determine measures and procedures to be applied.

ANASAC is also qualified to prepare internal regulations, safety instructions and aeronautic information newsletters, which develop and accomplish the implementation of the Security Programmes. A sanctions framework is also created in order to ensure the full compliance with the obligations.

What advantages does it bring?

This decree-law establishes security measures regarding civil aviation, enabling a lower threatening risk for civil aviation and air transport.

When does it enter into force?

This decree-law enters into force on the day following its publication.
