This decree-law amends the legal scheme of the cartographic production in the national territory.What is going to change?
A cooperation principle with the municipalities and intermunicipal entities is introduced through the entering of protocols.
The deadline for the updating of the basic cartography to be used on the territorial plans is extended and an exemption scheme is established for situations which do not justify their subjection to such deadlines.
The mere prior communication procedure before the General-Directorate for the Territory (DGT) is simplified.
A National Cartography Database is instituted, which promotes the provision of a national coverage to the scale of 1:10 000 or, in certain areas, even higher, used for multiple purposes and which boosts higher rationality levels of the investment levels and promotes the geographical information.
Regarding the use of military cartography for civil uses, it is mandatory to publicise the technical characteristics of the cartographic information, through a prior opinion of the Cartography Coordinating Council.
The successive supervision power of DGT are reinforced, the cartography homologation powers of the Autonomous Regions are explained and the composition and competences of the Cartography Coordinating Council are updated.
The scheme for the production of thematic cartography is clarified and simplified.What advantages does it bring?
