This decree-law reviews the existent careers within the inspection area, creating a special inspection career and maintaining, even if temporarily, some inspector’s careers and categories.What is going to change?
The special inspection career is created (comprising the categories of inspector and coordinating inspector).
To the special inspection career are transferred the employees integrated in the careers of municipal inspector, works technical inspector and public works technical inspector, plus all technical inspector careers.
The integration in this career is carried out through a public tender, within the scope of the General Law of Work in Public Functions (LTFP) and implies the attendance and approval of a specific training course, with the minimum duration of six months.
The functions in the special inspection career will be exercised through an employment contract in public functions.
After a trial period (six months), the recruited employees must remain in the body or in the service to which they were hired for at least two years.The following careers and categories are temporarily maintained:
- Works inspector;
- Public works inspector;
- Readings and charges inspector;
- Water and sanitation services inspector;
- Hygiene and cleaning services inspector.
The employees of these careers may, in the future, integrate the special inspection career.What advantages does it bring?
This decree-law ensures the creation of careers and categories that will replace others which, due to its functional contents and specific training, do not allow the transfer of its employees to the general careers.
It answers the need to deem the existent careers as special careers.When does it enter into force?
This decree-law enters into force on the first day of the month following its publication.
