Trad-Iure is a legal glossary containing a specific and specialised lexicon in the field of law. it is designed to help anyone who, at any given moment, is in contact with the law applicable in Portugal and needs qualified support material that contributes to the correct understanding and therefore to the proper handling of the legal information transmitted to him or which he wishes to convey.
It is an interdisciplinary tool that involves two areas of knowledge: Law and languages. It provides concepts of different areas of law such as Constitutional Law/Legal principles, Civil Law, Commercial Law, Criminal Law, Administrative/Fiscal Law, Aliens' Law (Borders, Asylum, Immigration and Trafficking in Human Beings), Procedural Law/Organisation for Legal Affairs, International/Community and Private International Law, Labour Law and Social Security and General Legal Terminology, in five languages, Portuguese, French, English, German and Spanish.
In the medium and long term, it is also intended to incorporate, on the one hand, concepts of property law (intellectual, private), consumer law and sport law, and, on the other, Dutch and Italian languages.
Its content is based on different collections, national and/or international, including those of the European Commission, the Council of Europe, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium, the European Migration Network ‘Glossary — asylum and migration' and the Court of Justice. The latter, a joint project of various central government departments, including the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Justice and Internal Administration , as well as the Public Prosecutor's Office that was, in fact, the starting point of this legal glossary.
